Peculiar

Good word, right?  Peculiar starts with "P," the next letter in our updates, and this will be a Peculiar Post for a couple of reasons:

1.  Michelle is writing this one.  The alphabet updates are Ty's, but this one had to be Michelle.
2.  There will be another "P" post to follow this one.  We have a few ideas we're turning in our heads for "P."

Besides being Peculiar, there is another "P" word involved in this post.  That word is "Promise."  When I closed my personal blog back in July or August, I promised that updates about our wedding, our road trip across the country, and our new home would still be coming.  So.... it's been like 6 months.  But luckily THIS month is the month of January -- the month of New Years resolutions, goals, and Promises we make to ourselves.  Yes, this is almost the last day of said month, but hey, at least it's happening right?  That's probably more than anyone envisioned actually happening.  So without further ado, today's post is about our wedding.  May 27th, 2011.  Here are a bunch of Pictures of the big day:

My side of the family

My immediate family

My siblings

My parents

My beautiful sister

Some of our disgusted friends

My roommates

Ty's sponsor family, the Greens.  The ones who made it all happen.

Ty's side of the family

I had to post this picture.  Check out that belly! (Cali, Ty's sister, and her husband Ray)

Ty's immediate family

I love this picture of Ty and his mom Jane.  Doesn't she look so happy and proud?  It was a big week for her as a mother.  Her son graduated from the Air Force Academy and got married!

I also love this picture of Ty with his dad.  They're funny together. :)

Ty's siblings

Our parents

My brothers

My mom with her 3 lovely sisters

What a handsome fellow, don't you think?

Fingers up the nose... typical.

Our wedding was awesome.  Seriously the best day of my life.  I'll never forget the feeling of kneeling across the alter from my best friend, knowing that we were finally going to be married and together forever.  It felt so good to be there with family and friends, feeling their support, but at the same time only being aware of myself and Ty.  What a great day!  The reception was great too... at least we heard it was great.  We kind of feel like we missed the party because being the bride and groom and all, we had some other obligations besides just chowing down on the gelato and cookies.  Anyways, here's a few pictures from the evening:

My brother Josh really came through on the music... unexpected technical difficulties ended up being a blessing.

Both of Ty's sponsor moms throughout his stay at the Academy -- Whitney and Julie.

Singing happy birthday to Ty's "brother," our friend Justin

Well, I hope these picture at least give you an idea of what a great day it was.  Even though everything that day was so great, the best part really was (I'm going to be gushy here) the fact that I am now married to my best friend.  Best day ever.

  1. Oh Michelle! These are the BEST pictures! I just love them. I have so many favorites. I love the sibling shots -- the one with you and your siblings, the one with Ty and his siblings, the one of your mom with her sisters. I love the shots of you and your mom and you and your dad, too.

These are just the best. YOu look beautiful and Ty looks so handsome. I'm so glad you posted them. I went through and blew them all up so I could see them well.

  2. Oh boy! More have been uploaded since I commented. What a happy, happy day this was.

Michelle, I will never forget the look you had at the alter kneeling across from Ty. It's the look every mother hopes to see. You had such an incredible look of absolute love and trust. I think of it often. Your eyes would feel right to the brim with tears, but they never made a mess. It was incredible.

You guys are a great couple.
