This is my hometown. We have friends who have been evacuated and their neighborhoods are on fire. Our families are safe. My parents house is one of many that are opened up to evacuees. We have favorite tourist attractions that have gone up in flames. Parts of the Air Force Academy have been evacuated and the fire continues to head that direction. It's out of control. I'm not sure whether to cry or throw up. But definitely pray.

Oh Michelle, this has been making me sick all day as well. I just feel so badly about it all. Please, please keep us updated.

ReplyDeleteIsn't that so crazy! I just can't believe it! We almost moved to that neighborhood that has gone up in flames! It's nuts! My dad works at Peterson Air Force base and he says that the military is gearing up and treating this like a "Hurricane Katrina" situation. I just pray they get it under control before it gets more into the city.

ReplyDeleteDude. The house in the bottom right of the middle picture belongs to a member of our Ward. Unfortunately, it went up in flames along with 5 other members homes in our Ward. It was so scary waiting to find out if we would have to be evacuated. We definitely were reminded of our blessings with this whole ordeal. Thank goodness this fire is getting under control...
